CMS Produces Its 150 Millionth Wheel!

CMS Group, a source of pride for Turkey in the automotive sector, has achieved a major milestone by producing its 150 millionth wheel.

Founded in 1980 and now one of Europe’s largest wheel manufacturers, CMS has once again reaffirmed its leadership in the industry. The 150 millionth wheel was produced at CMS’s Gaziemir plant, one of its four production plants located in Gaziemir, Pınarbaşı, and Çiğli. The milestone was celebrated across all plants with the participation of employees and executives.

"A SYMBOL OF TRUST"

Speaking at the ceremony, CMS Chairman of the Board Bertuğ Ösen emphasized that the production of the 150 millionth wheel is not merely a numerical achievement but a symbol of the trust placed in the CMS brand. “At first glance, this figure may seem like just a production milestone. But for us, 150 million means 150 million acts of dedication, 150 million tests of quality, and 150 million expressions of trust,” he stated.

70,000 KILOMETERS

Highlighting the scale of the accomplishment, Ösen continued: “This number is not just a technical statistic—it also reflects the global impact we’ve made. If we were to line up all the wheels we’ve produced, they would stretch nearly 70,000 kilometers enough to circle the Earth twice. It also corresponds to wheels for 37.5 million vehicles, more than twice the number of registered passenger cars in Turkey.”

THE FOUNDATION OF CMS: VISION AND COURAGE

Reflecting on the company’s journey, Ösen shared the core values behind CMS’s long-standing success: “The CMS story began 45 years ago. With humble but determined steps, our founding chairman Mr. Tonguç Ösen and his team set out to produce Turkey’s first aluminum wheel without any external technological knowledge or support. Over time, they succeeded in making CMS not only a national leader but also one of Europe’s and the world’s foremost wheel manufacturers. At the heart of our journey lies the same determination and vision that brought us to where we are today.”

CMS Chairman Bertuğ Ösen emphasized that this production milestone also represents a significant turning point in the history of Turkish industry: “At CMS, we manufacture wheels for Europe’s automotive giants, and approximately 82% of our production is exported. The fact that a CMS wheel is mounted on a vehicle every three to four seconds is a testament to the scale of our impact,” he stated. Ösen also underlined the company’s broader vision: “Our goal is to position CMS not just as a manufacturer, but as a technology partner within the automotive industry. Guided by this vision, every step we take is planned with a long-term, sustainable, and global perspective. It is a great source of pride to see that we have reached this point.”

Offering a heartfelt message to CMS employees, Ösen said: “As the CMS family, we are an institution built on trust. We are proud of you.” Turning to future goals, he added: “We are no longer just producing products, we’re generating data, knowledge, and solutions. Digitalization, artificial intelligence, data analytics... all have become integral parts of our production approach. Our next milestone is the 200 millionth wheel and the celebration of CMS’s 50th anniversary. These goals bring with them greater responsibility, more innovation, and stronger unity. In this journey, our biggest priorities will be leading the green transformation, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing employee well-being.”
