10 Million Investment for the R&D of Fuel-Efficient Automobiles!

CMS,being the leader of Turkey and one of the leading countries of Europe in its sector, develops new products on the Research and Development Center consisted of Turkish Engineers and Technicians to provide less fuel consumption so less carbon emission release. CMS allocates more than 10 Million annually for the R&D activities.

CMS, being the leader of Turkey and one of the leading countries of Europe in its sector contributes on research and development and knowledge of the Turkish Automotive Sector, as well as the manufacturing, export and economical contribution.

The manufacturing of prototypes, the developments of the products, and the design of the latest technology wheels automobile brands need takes place within the scope of CMS Research and Development Center with 74 Turkish Engineers and technicians.

The R&D Specialists aim to contribute in fuel-efficiency with the accurate wheels and to increase the performance while decreasing the carbon emission of automobiles with the projects carried out with the cooperation of TUBITAK.

2% of the turnover is invested to R&D annually.

Berat Ösen, The CEO of CMS said that the aluminium alloy wheels on which CMS has been the know- how owner for 30 years are preferred much more because of the efficiency of the resistance/weight ratio, and added “The lighter and more resistant the wheels be, the lighter the automobiles will be. Thus, the lighter automobile decreases the fuel consumption and decreases the carbon emission release.

Ösen, saying that the aluminium is now used not only for the wheels but also for the other components in the automobile sectors, added” Automotive Sector is one of the most dynamic and most competitive sectors on a global aspect. Under these conditions, we have to keep up with the technological innovations and the requests of automotive manufacturers. Our R&D Center is working based on this innovative idea.”

Ösen also mentioned that each year, 2% of the turnover is used as the source for R&D works and in 2015 it would reach 10 Million TL
